Campus Review

This is the one and only Cheshire College South and West Campus Review!!

I have been studying my subjects at CCSW for about three weeks now and one thing I have been enjoying the most was the very well thought out and modern campus. For starters, it is shaped like a C which might even be a kind of easter egg (Cheshire College?) but is a very smart layout for the college.

The whole ground floor is reserved for the lunch area and little food shops as well as a small store for school supplies. The prices I have seen here for snacks and meals have been very reasonable, even compared to German supermarkets. The building of the college is curving around a circular park area with additional seats.

The building is organised into a west, north and east part, each being ground floor plus 3 stories and assigned a certain subject, one is for IT, business etc.

The library is also 3 stories tall, the best part about it are the many computers that the college has to offer. These can be used whenever you want and there are also a lot of them in classrooms. The college also pays for subscriptions such as Adobe so students are able to learn with the best programs available. The whole system works with ID badges (they get really angry when you don’t wear them), each student gets assigned a number and you can login with the same information everywhere. In the computers, online and also the printers. I wouldn’t be surprised if the fridges in the teachers rooms work with their ID cards..

My favourite part about the college has to be the band room, better said the 5 practice rooms that are all fitted with drumsets, amplifiers and sound gear. The biggest of them can also be used for recording during the music producing classes. Sadly the rooms are always occupied but I still manage to sneak in the occasional practice session. Some of the gear could be better but why complain! My old school had a bass with guitar strings on it.

The college also has some activities and workshops that are free outside of classes, I have heard of a sign language course, math clubs and more. I have also heard rumors about a mysterious gym that is hidden somewhere in the building but noone has ever seen it – when asking a teacher or supervisor they will always be refering you to someone else. One more thing I will have to point out are the teachers which have been extraordinarily nice to the students. One of my teachers had to substitute three of my classes during the first weeks and still somehow managed to make them more interesting than any of my German teachers did. And he knew nothing about the subjects!

In conclusion it’s a very nice college, 9/10 would study here again. It’s modern, has tons of computers and programs plus music gear, and best of all, offers engaging teachers! The initial assessments have also been pretty easy so far.

There is also a good chippy nearby👍.

It’s nice to hear about your first positiv impressions. I hope you use all these equipments. But I can’t believe that your teacher has no knowleg about the subjects he talked.

Great! Are you sure you were not paid for this review? Anyway, Cheshire College should give you a big bonus for this!
